Magnetic Mixing for Pharmaceutical Environments

PharmEquip supplies Millipore NovAseptic® magnetic mixers for sterile pharmaceutical and biotechnology environments. Designed for bottom-mounted installation, these systems provide efficient, consistent mixing while maintaining a fully sealed vessel.

Using a magnetic drive, the mixer operates without a shaft penetrating the tank, eliminating a common contamination and leakage risk found in traditional designs. The result is a clean, reliable solution suited to GMP manufacturing.

Applications include media and buffer preparation, bioprocessing, formulation and other critical process stages.

System Components

NovAseptic® magnetic mixers are built as a modular system, with each component engineered to work together for reliable, aseptic mixing performance.

Drive Unit
External motor that powers the magnetic coupling, available in multiple configurations to suit different process requirements.
Tank Plate
Welded into the base of the vessel, forming the hygienic interface between the mixer and the tank.
Mixing Head / Rotor
The internal rotating element that delivers efficient product movement and mixing within the vessel.
Male Bearing
A high-performance bearing, typically ceramic, designed to support smooth and stable operation in sterile environments.

Built to Global Standards

NovAseptic® mixers are manufactured from high-grade 316L stainless steel with electropolished surface finishes to support cleanability and minimise contamination risk. Product-contact materials meet FDA and USP Class VI requirements, with options available for hazardous environments including ATEX-certified configurations.
